On 24 July 2020 the Victorian Government announced the CPVV Industry Assistance Package to support the commercial passenger vehicle industry and support jobs throughout the Coronavirus crisis.

The Department of Transport (the Department) is now assessing eligibility for three separate grant programs.

The Victorian Government’s $22 million support package for the commercial passenger vehicle industry is being progressively rolled out to support job security and help passengers and drivers to travel safely during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

As part of the support package the Department of Transport (the Department) has been assessing eligibility for the following grants which are available to booking service providers (BSPs) and independent owner-operators.

  • cleaning grants,
  • regional fund grants, and
  • depot fee subsidies

Assessment of these grants closed on 19 October 2020.

Further information about these programs can be found at the Department’s website.

All assessments, and any determination of payment amounts and conditions will be made based on criteria approved by the Minister for Public Transport taking into account the characteristics of eligible CPV operators (e.g. size and location).

If you are a CPV vehicle owner or driver whose vehicle receives bookings through a BSP you are not eligible for a grant because your BSP will support you through the grant they receive.

Once your eligibility has assessed, the Department will contact you again to advise whether you are eligible for payments.

Receipt of any funding from the Department will be subject to a range of conditions specific to each program. The nature of these conditions and supporting documentation will be provided upon confirmation of your eligibility.
