Melville Road tram stop upgrade

Pascoe Vale South’s Route 58 tram terminus has been prioritised for an upgrade with works planned for October 2018.

The project will build a safe, accessible platform tram stop so that everyone can catch the tram.

The upgraded stop will allow passengers using wheelchairs and parents with prams to easily board and travel on the tram. New signalised pedestrian crossings and safety fencing will also improve safety for all passengers and the local community.

The project will provide a more reliable tram service with the terminus being upgraded to boost the efficiency of the trams “turning around” at the Melville Road terminus.

The infrastructure upgrade will allow the new tram stop to house larger low floor trams operating on the route and reduce delays to the timetable with a dual track tram turn around.
